Marc is in Pearlington, MS
Topic: Katrina Relief
Marc Marchetti, a representative of Vets & Pets (Veterans Recovery and Food Bank of Florida,Inc.), arrived in Pearlington , MS to give them tractor-trailer loads of supplies. They join Dr. Ann Scholl of Chickasaw Animal Hospital , Orlando , FL. who is there at the request of the Pontchartrain Humane Society to set up a vet clinic. Marc Marchetti plans to stay and help because the people in Pearlington are desperate. There aren't any Red Cross, Salvation Army or any other centers there. Most of the people there have no transportation because everything is gone because of Katrina. They need everything--food, clothing, medicine, volunteers, etc. The National Guard (units from MS, AL and TN), the Army and the Army Corps of Engineers are there and doing all they can, but they don't have the supplies. If you know people who can help, they need it. They are helping both people and animals.

Comment removed by website manager. There was no email or contact information left and I could not verify its authenticity.

No comments left with out contact information will be accepted as we need to verify the information supplied. I was hoping to keep this open to all without having to screen it but it seems that that will not be possible.

There are many non-profits that are trying to help in affected areas and I would hope they would be willing to work together, support each other and not spread misinformation, or attack another, specially on the others site.
